Katherine Hall is the creative force behind Central Coast design consultancy, Design & Opinion. In early 2026, her family was featured on television show ‘Grand Designs Transformations’ as they converted their old shed into a fresh creative space for both her family and her business, full of artworks and colour.

I have worked with Katherine a number of times in the past as a Portrait Photographer, initially when we collaborated on a charity cookbook, entitled ‘Cook, Share, Belong’ and later on Branding projects, such as for Sydney-based construction supply company ‘Yousta’.

I’ve always thought Katherine is a very interesting person, who constantly has a number of things on the go, but when I saw the transformation of her studio on the TV, I approached her to make her portrait with the idea of her being surrounded by her artworks and inspiration pieces in the space she had created. These are some of my favourite portraits from the session, along with some images from around her property that show how that artistic inspiration constantly surrounds them. I hope you enjoy them!
