Published Book Photography: Cook, Share, Belong
I’m super proud of this Cookbook, which was an initiative and concept brought to being by the friends and family of students at the Wallaby Street Early learning Centre in Blackwall, near Woy Woy, on the NSW Central Coast.
The initial idea came from Katherine Hall, a Graphic Designer and mother of one of the children at the pre-school, who then put a call out to other parents who may be able to contribute their talents. I came on board as the main Photographer, shooting both the Chapter Intro Flat-lays, as well as a lot of the photography around the centre and of the children.
Families were asked to suggest recipes of the dishes their children enjoyed and slowly we built a very personal and community-based book of incredible ideas and delicious treats.
What started as a simple concept to highlight some of the healthy food options provided by the pre-school quickly turned into a very professional and beautifully curated and designed product. Not only that, as we ran it as a charity fundraising endeavour, the book ended up raising over $9000 for the Starlight Foundation, a children’s charity who the centre was already working to raise money for.
I’m so proud of what we created together and am delighted to have been able to provide my services and be inspired by both the kids and the team as a whole. The outcome is beautiful and I really think you can feel the connected touch through out.
