The Not Part Of team have updated their website. There's exciting things to come, with arts and music festivals in the pipeline. Their new website has a whole bunch of my images from 'Not Part of New Year's Eve', so go and check them out...and keep hitting refresh, as new ones will appear...
...on that note, I have just found that I also have some of the images on the BBC website, along with an article about the festival.

I have just returned from the second of the two Mountain Film Festivals (as mentioned below) where I was fortunate enough to have presented my first solo exhibitions.
I really enjoyed the films that I was able to see whilst there, and a huge thanks must go to the sponsors and Oliver Metherell for his organisation of the event.

On the Saturday 1st March 2008 I will be presenting my first solo exhibition of work. The exhibition will run in conjunction with the Mountain Film Festival, taking place at Imperial College, London. The following week we will be moving the festival and the exhibition up to the University of Glasgow.
I am extremely excited to be putting on an exhibition of some of my new work. Hopefully this will be the start of many more events to come, as I build on my reputation as an artist.
If you are in London on March 1st, please drop by and show your support for the film festival. There are going to be some amazingly inspirational pieces on show. Not forgetting of course, the opportunity to get your hands on an original limited edition Christopher Perkins artwork to grace your living room wall.
Click on the images below or the links above for more info and directions. See you there!!!

I am now starting on a big overhaul of the website, to include much of the portrait work I have been doing recently. I am very excited by this new avenue of my work and the extra creativity it has allowed me to explore. Please keep coming back over the next few weeks to see how things are progressing.

On the 12th January, I was invited to be the primary photographer at the 'Not Part Of New Year's Eve' Festival. This was a 7 hour extravangza of music, comedy, theatre and art. Following on from the success of 'Not Part Of The Manchester International Festival' last summer, the organisers are hoping to make 'Not Part Of' a standalone event, promoting and giving a stage to up and coming talent, particularly from the North West.

Cheshire Life magazine has a piece about me in this months edition. On the 6th October, Jodrell Bank Space Telescope celebrated its 50th Anniversary. I went along to photograph the event and came back with some stunning images of the displays, as they projected a short film onto the face of the dish.

Well, this is a new one on me. Never before have I been mentioned in the same sentence as both Ian Curtis (of Joy Division fame) and David Dickinson (the ultra tanned antiques man!) It is indeed true though and thanks to Mark Page for his compliments on the Manchester Photography Blogspot, concerning my 'On a clear day...' project work.

The first public performance has now been and gone for the artists working on the Underdogs project and what a night it was. I was once again behind the camera, to capture the on-stage antics and the off-stage too, do interviews and generally soak up and get on tape the spirit of the occasion.

Wow! This weekend was the first meeting of all the initial artists who will be working on a new music project, called 'The Underdog's Guide To Success'. This is part of a film and initiative by Mind Tree Films. I was down in Brighton as part of the crew who will be filming the project as it progresses.
This was such an inspirational weekend. Amongst other things, the artists were all split into new groups. In these groups they had to create a new track within an hour, inspired by one of a list of songs given to them by the organisers. These guys had never met each other before that moment, and to watch new bonds and completely new pieces of work being created in front of our eyes was a true privilege.
I can't wait to see how this thing progresses...

July 2007
This month I spent 5 days in a Sussex mansion filming for Lord Of Pain. It was fantastic, so soon after returning from my 15 month travels, to be back on a film set and working with such talented and creative individuals once more. Filming went extremely well and I think this is going to be a really intriguing and entertaining piece once finished.
I was once again working with the boys at Rockutainment, and by visiting their website, you can get an update of the progress of the film.
For a cheeky taster of what delights lay in store, take a look at the Fake Grindhouse Trailer the guys made, which inspired the making of the full length film.
Some of the behind-the-scenes photographs I took during breaks from behind the video cameras can be seen in my portfolio.
